Fixes, additions, and improvements shipped to IceDNicco.
Move a 3.3.5a character to IceDNicco for free. Ask the admin on Discord with your IceDNicco login, the character name, and the other realm address. An armory link makes it fastest; without one, send level, class, race, item IDs, reputations, and screenshots. Full details on the News page.
Play now forces software sound, no MSAA, and Direct3D 9. Hardware sound and 4x MSAA are a common ACCESS_VIOLATION (Error #132) on Windows 10/11 with the 3.3.5a client. Close the old launcher — it self-updates.
32-bit Wow.exe is capped at 2 GB unless Large Address Aware is set. 1.7.42 turns that flag on at Play / Install so the client can use up to 4 GB on 64-bit Windows (8 GB is not possible). Existing launchers self-update from the signed manifest. Close the old launcher first.
MMOTOP is no longer a Vote Points site. Vote on TopG, GTop100, Arena-Top100, MMtop100, BestGames, or GameTop from the cabinet.
The cabinet no longer credits Vote Points on an honor-system button. Open the banner, complete the ranking captcha, then press Check (or wait for automatic credit). +10 VP per site every 22 hours.
Party bots no longer attack friendly Hyldnir in Brunnhildar Village. Ice Shard on the Freed Proto-Drake now frees the frozen Brunnhildar prisoners for Cold Hearted (12856) — they do not need to be killed.
Raid rescue no longer pulls anyone into the Death Knight starter instance. Non-DKs stuck in Ebon Hold are sent to Dalaran. Arena/skirmish result screen no longer crashes the world. Alterac Valley and Isle of Conquest now auto-fill to 40v40 (queue the specific BG, not Random — Random stays 10v10). Needs a world recreate for the BG fill.
If you die while a raid fight is still going, Release Spirit stays locked until combat ends. After a wipe (or when the fight drops) you can release and resurrect at the instance entrance as before.
Pulling a raid boss, wiping, or reforming the raid no longer applies loot CD. The lockout is written only when that encounter boss is actually dead.
Release Spirit in raids now resurrects you at the inside instance entrance, same as 5-man dungeons (Naxx, Ulduar, ToC, ICC, Ruby Sanctum, and the rest). Open world graveyards are unchanged.
If you are the raid leader (or solo), bosses you already killed this week stay dead when you leave and form a new raid — including trash. Teammates still enter your instance. Loot CD is unchanged (.cd). If this week’s save was already dropped, relog once in Dalaran before you enter.
Your character is now saved about once a minute. A world restart should no longer send you far back on the map. Progress already lost on the last restart cannot be restored.
Find Herbs and Find Minerals stay on at the same time. Town services (repair, inn, mailbox) use IceDNiccoChat overlay pins so they no longer hide each other. Update IceDNiccoChat in the launcher, then /reload.
Killing Halion (and other 25-player bosses) again this week no longer drops loot, and already-earned Emblems of Frost are not taken from the currency tab. .cd is unchanged.
Checking several town services (repair, inn, mailbox, …) now draws all of them on the minimap, not only the last one. Update IceDNiccoChat in the launcher, then /reload.
